The First Local Experience of Use of Extracorporeal Circulatory Support with PROTEKDuo Dual-Lumen Cannula in a Patient with Acute Right Ventricular Failure

Acute right ventricular failure is a life-threatening condition that can occur as result of sudden increase in total pulmonary vascular resistance, particular, embolism. Most patients with thromboembolism are treated thrombolytic therapy, but some cases open thrombextraction preferred. Removal blood clots from the bed and cardiopulmonary bypass lead to spasm artery elevation which, turn, increases afterload on ventricle dramatic decrease its mechanical function.
 The aim. aim this report present first experience using PROTEKDuo cannula for purpose temporary support ventricle.
 Case presentation. We studied 63-year-old patient who underwent Studer technique bladder adenocarcinoma. On 14th day an acute massive embolism occurred drop hemodynamics presence floating clot atrium. Thrombolysis carried significant risks due possible bleeding fragmentation atrium subsequent embolization arteries. In these circumstances, thrombectomy under hypothermic arrest was performed. Intraoperatively, developed resistant all conservative therefore, connected PROTEKDuo, which made it overcome phenomena postoperative period.
 Conclusions. Our dual-lumen demonstrates another useful option saving isolated failure.
